Calibrating the Emerging Economy: Economic Clusters for Regional Growth and Development

Thursday, March 11, 8 – 10 am

ITenterprises, 4633 World Parkway Circle, near the UMSL campus

On March 11, we will kick-off the first in a series of three programs designed to inform and engage representatives of business, education, economic development, workforce development, and transitioning professionals in the details of the new economy.

The first program will feature presentations by Steve Johnson, Senior Vice President for Economic Development at the St. Louis RCGA and Mary Bruton, Research Analyst for the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.  Steve will describe recent research conducted for the RCGA by Market Street Services, which identified key industry cluster strengths and directions for the region, going forward.  Mary will provide information on regional industry and occupational estimates and forecasts through the year 2018.  Business leaders will respond with their own perspectives on talent management in this time of change.

The second and third programs will focus on Economic Development Tools and Strategies in the New Marketplace (April 7) and Developing and Re-developing Talent to Meet Changing Market Demands (April 28).
