This, that, and thank you from Bounce Back St. Louis

Greetings to everyone.

This and That

As 2009 nears a close, we’re anxious to get your feedback on Bounce Back St. Louis and how we can serve you better through our various programs in 2010.  Please take a few moments in the next week or so to complete our simple survey.  https://app.icontact.com/icp/sub/survey/start?sid=5764&cid=331389 If you have any problems or questions about the survey, please contact Sheila Burkett, sheila@tuxedoparkmgmt.com.  We value your feedback – positive and ‘constructive’!

Our colleague Rosalyn Andrews has a cool idea (which she pitched at the Start-Up CUE last week, actually) about creating a website for reviews of Staffing and Contracting Companies.  She envisions that, initially, the review site will focus on companies doing business in the St. Louis area, but eventually she would like to go nationwide.  Rosalyn is looking for general ideas and cost-effective methods to get the site up and running quickly for professionals in the area to use to post and review comments about their experiences with various staffing / talent contracting firms.  Please share your thoughts with Rosalyn at http://www.linkedin.com/in/rosalynandrews She appreciates any assistance you can provide.

We’re nearing capacity for next week’s two Emerging Economy Career Forums, so if you’d like to attend and you have not yet registered, please do so as soon as possible (by sending a reply e-mail to this address).  The forums are:

  • Careers in Sustainable Agriculture on Wednesday, Dec 2 from 8 until 10 am at Monsanto.
  • Careers in Adaptive Technologies on Friday, Dec 4 from 8 until 10 am at Paraquad.

(Adaptive Technologies include biomedical engineering, development of assistive devices, universal design, occupational and physical therapy, and related human services.)

And Thank You

We couldn’t do justice to the thanks-giving season if we didn’t express appreciation to each and all of you in the Bounce Back Network for the many things you have done for our team this year.  I’m talking about your coming to meetings, helping to set up refreshments, greeting and registering folks, applauding the speakers and asking them good questions, suggesting topics, videotaping events, showing up at conferences, recruiting new members, conducting research, serving on panels, organizing teams, coaching one another, offering suggestions and perspectives, and teaching us by your own compelling examples what it means to hold your head up high in the face of very tough conditions.  For all this and more, we are very grateful to you.

See you in December, and we’ll keep on keeping on….
